A single day, hour by hour

Where each hour's electricity came from, and where the surplus went. Bars above the line supply the house; bars below it are energy leaving — sold to the grid or put into the batteries.

The three sources sum to household demand exactly. That is not a modeling choice: at every instant the meters satisfy solar + grid + battery = load, and on a test of 71 simultaneous readings the median disagreement was 0.000 kW. So the height of the stack above the line is the load, with nothing rounded to make it fit.

A clear summer day has a wide blue middle, a green trough underneath as the batteries fill, and a green evening as they empty again. A winter day is mostly pink. On the house used kWh, of which % never came from the grid.

The buttons above jump to days the record picks out for itself, not days chosen by hand: the longest and shortest come from the computed daylight, the hottest and coldest from the weather station, the rest from the meters. They move as the record grows.
